Dead Flowers: A Rag was a little venture that attempted to bring in readers indifferent to poetry to curate an issue, choosing works that best represent their notion of what poetry is; and then writing a brief essay explaining their choices. It really didn’t work for the simple reason that readers who are indifferent to poetry are really, really indifferent to poetry. Participants became more and more silly poets in disguise.
Nonetheless, a bit of decent poetry made it into issues of Dead Flowers: A Rag.
